'Cause Boyz II Men pretty much INVENTED R & B
Or at least, that's what one of my students (age 19) said in class the other day. Since then I've been trying to look for some kind of easy-to-read genealogy of rock music, something like this picture here, from the movie School of Rock. (I found this one, which was okay but not great -- for one thing, it stops at 1978.) Anyone know of anything like that out there anywhere?

So I pay my taxes, and the high schools aren't even teaching these kids about Louis Jordan?
Well, if Boyz 2 Men didn't invent R&B, then who did, mister smart guy?
Rick James? Bel Biv Devoe? Frankly I'm stumped.
