Music Suggestions?

I'm going back to the dentist on Friday for more nitrous oxide fun.  And I get to bring my iPod and listen to whatever I want.  So what should I listen to?

I highly recommend Dan Deacon's "Spiderman of the Rings" album... but I would skip track 1... too much Woody Woodpecker for me.

I don't know you guys yet, but I'm going to see you at Sasquatch.

I'll be handing out cards that say www.rickchicago.com on them and doing things that are illegal in Korea.

Nuh-uh! What timing! I spend a good portion of last week convincing friends (and I'm NOT even kidding) that Bachman Turner Overdrive's "Let It Ride" on headphones is a really, really great time. I won it in the iPod shuffle lottery recently and then listened to it five more times in a row because it was so surprising how much better a song it turned out to be when it's pouring into your ears.

If you have anything by Dengue Fever, that's also a good headphone bet. If you're feeling up for a song that builds just right with strings - try Dusty Springfield's "I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself".

Or you can put together a "Yacht Rock Ten" and sail through your appointment dreaming of swishing through a sunset boat party with cocaine buddy Boz Scaggs on your arm.

If I had to pick just ONE song for this occasion though, it would be "Classical Gas" by Mason Williams. The title alone is begging you to give it a spin.

Happy Tooth Times!
